When her friends convince her to do a tarot card reading, she reluctantly participates and ends up unlocking the power to speak to the dearly departed. While trying to navigate these new, unwanted powers, Alyssa enlists the help of her friends, the medium, and the hot detective next door to solve the mysteries of their deaths. But what she finds might shed some light on her husband's untimely death and what caused it.I really liked the premise of this book, but it fell a little short on execution. I was actually surprised by one of the twists, but I was disappointed that nothing really came out of that storyline. Connections between the cases were flimsy and some seemed to come out of nowhere. It took a bit to get into the story, but after the first third of the book, the action finally picked up a little. However, it then felt rushed, especially the last few chapters. The epilogue really confused me and I still don't really know the answer to one of the mysteries that was mentioned on several occasions. Overall, this one was just ok for me. I think the twists and turns the mystery took were a little over-engineered and ultimately the solution wasn't satisfying. by Melissa Holtz
